– You mishear what people say wildly wrong. Like, wildly wrong. Then you process it and it makes wayyyy more sense than whatever you thought someone originally said.
– You have to deal with rude people who refuse to repeat themselves and act exasperated at the suggestion, than proceed to get angry when you won’t respond to them and/or remember what they just said.
– You can hear a car door open down the street but you can’t hear someone talking to you in the same room.
– You’re constantly seen as a bad listener (which, maybe isn’t that far from the truth- but they assume you’re not trying), unfocused (which I tend to be, but it’s unrelated), and so on. Nobody stops to consider that maybe you have processing issues.
They never engaged in sex acts but if you look throughout their history they were not treated well
– You were tested for hearing issues as a kid because you didn’t respond to people or talk much, but every test came back negative and your parents were told you have perfect hearing.
– Responding to something someone said ages ago, even with a different conversation still going, the topic has moved on, and everyone forgot about it.

So I was watching one of those elephant documentaries and some guy walked over to the elephants and the elephants all crowded round to look at him and stroke him with their trunks.
And it reminded me how when there’s a cat in the garden my entire family will go out and cuddle it.
like, they extensively mourn their dead and one of the things they do is cover them with leaves, and sometimes when people go to sleep on the ground in an area with elephants, they will wake up COVERED WITH LEAVES because some elephants found them and thought they were dead and it made them sad so they buried them. omg precious
and they aren’t really “scared of mice” but they will get upset and try really hard to get away from a mouse because (we think) they are really afraid of stepping on the mouse. they know they are big and have big stompy feets and they are afraid of stepping on other animals.
also they form long-lasting friendships and when rescuing elephants it’s really important to keep friends together because they can get really depressed when they are separated! when friends are reunited they make happy sounds and cuddle really close and it’s so cute and it makes me cry. ;______; i just, have so many elephant feels you guys

If by “here” you mean Japan, i’d just like to say that it is well known that not even the average Japanese citizen is aware of the true nature of the Geisha, Geiko and Maiko. they are not strippers and to say things like this is demeaning to the women who work hard and are trained in the arts (dance, music, tea ceremony, etc.).
Geisha became what they are known as today in the mid-1700s. the first actual geisha were men and they entertained shogun and samurai (and other wealthy men) with dance, music and the art of tea ceremony and theater. when courtesans were losing money to these male geisha, a few of them broke away from being in the sex business and became female geisha. therefore, geisha as an occupation never was a thing of the sex trade/prostitution and absolutely NOT stripping.
